After-Hours Emergencies

Emergencies are considered to be conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, etc. If an emergency should arise, please call 911. In the case of minor emergencies during office hours, please call our office first for instructions. We may not have the proper capabilities for your situation, which could result in an unnecessary delay in appropriate care. If you choose to go directly to an emergency room, we recommend the WakeMed Children's Emergency Department at the WakeMed Raleigh Campus off New Bern Ave, inside the Beltline (I-440). The address is 3000 New Bern Ave.

You may call poison control directly at 1-800-222-1222 in the event of an ingestion.

We have partnered with Triage 4 Pediatrics to be available to our patients 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. When our regular office hours end for the day we forward our phones to Triage 4 Pediatrics. You may be asked to leave a message during busy times, however, they will call you back within one hour. Triage 4 Pediatrics follows our protocols to know exactly how to care for our patients.  You may also request the on-call doctor.

**In the event of a power outage or inability to connect to our after-hours nurse triage line please go to your insurance's website for Pediatric Nurse Triage Advice contact info.
