Dr. R received his medical degree at Vanderbilt Medical School in 1986 and completed pediatric residency at UNC, Chapel Hill. Dr. R joined North Raleigh Pediatrics full-time in July 1989. He was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1991, with latest re-certification in 2012.
Dr. R and his partner purchased the property at 7205 Stonehenge Drive in 1993, where the practice is now located. He has served as a preceptor for UNC medical students since 1997.
He is currently Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC School of Medicine. In 2006-07, he served a two-year term as Chairman of Pediatrics at WakeMed.
Susan received her Clinical Nurse Specialist degree at Yale University School of Nursing in 1987 with training at Yale New Haven Hospital and West Haven VA Medical Center. After working at the National Institutes of Health and University of Texas – Southwestern, she completed her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care at Catholic University of America in 2006 with training at Children’s National Medical Center and Holy Cross Hospital including Burn Unit, PICU, NICU, and the Mother-Baby Unit (Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery). She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her doctoral and post-doctoral research and ongoing passion at Liberty University focuses on the Father-Baby/Mother-Baby dyad and the Father-Mother-Child/Adolescent attachment. Susan enthusiastically joins North Raleigh Pediatrics on their Mission to provide the state-of-the-art, evidence-based pediatric care.
Welcome to motherhood! Oftentimes, new mothers have challenges regarding lactation. Our lactation expert, Lindsay, helps new mothers during their introduction to breastfeeding.
Lindsay is a Registered Dietitian that specializes in lactation and breastfeeding education. She received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Arkansas and her Master’s degree at Appalachian State University.
Lindsay is so excited to bring her passion for breastfeeding parents and babies to North Raleigh Pediatrics and help parents meet their infant feeding goals. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Taylor, and dog, Flynn.
